This quote is from a book called "The Second Sex"  and english translation of "Le Deuxième Sexe" authored by Simone de Beauvoir. As I started going through the book , I wondered, what are we, even in this so called modern , privileged society, are we human or just our genders? I know people might argue , yes that's why there are some gender specific roles that only a male or a  female is assigned to, because they are better candidate to do it.But doesn't that feel irrational, why are their so many men identifying as women and women as men. But for now let's stick to traditional genders.If I talk about physical labour related work or carrying child related things ,yes, definitely yes, their are gender specific roles. I agree! I am not arguing on the fundamentally designed biological level arguments.   मै स्वप्नलोक के कतरों पर ,‌अब तक‌ जीवन को जीती थी, चोरी के सपनों से सींचा‌ हर दिन, सु:ख का बादल जाता था,  पर चोरी तो आख़िर चोरी है, हर सुख के कंकड़ के बदले,  सागर में जितना जल अथाह , उससे ज्यादा ही दु:ख आ‌ जाता था। इस चक्र का कोई अंत भला‌ भी, कहां‌ समझ ही आता‌‌ था, फिर कुछ धुंध हटी इन आंखों‌ की, जाना मैंने कुछ नश्वर को,  थोड़ी सी ही समझ है मेरी, पर मुझ क्षण-भंगुर जैसे को भी उसने जाने कैसे संभांल लिया। जलता बुझता इक दिया थी मैं, न जाने हर चिंगारी के मिट जाने पर भी,  कैसे उसने फिर आंच दिया, सु:ख की है परिभाषा झूठी, दु:ख भी झूठा ही जाना, झूठा मोह है, है झूठी माया  ये सब तो बस उसकी छोटी सी एक झांकी हैं,  मिटती है फिर बनती है, बन कर फिर से मिट जाती है, जो है कहानी हर जीवन की , बहुत 'अलग' तो किसकी ही हो जाती है? उस झाकीं को जो अपना जाने, खुद को जो भी 'मैं' माने,  खुद के लिए जो सु:ख ही चाहे, पर हर दु:ख से जो मुक्ति चाहे, वो ही तो है सु:ख का चोर, पाखंड रोज़ वो रचता है,  है बाह्य-सु:ख ही अंतिम सत्य , इस भ्रम में हर छण को जीता है, इस सत्य को अब पहचान...
